Minor Services Include:

Visual Inspections check the generator for signs of wear, rust, oil leaks and damage. Ensuring the generator is clean and free from debris, such as leaves and dirt that can cause damage to the air flow and cause rot within the generator.  We also inspect the battery for corrosion on terminals, proper charge, and overall health. A weak or dead battery is a common cause of generator failure during power outage.

Major Services Include:

Oil changes and oil filter - Just like a car engine, a generator needs its oil changed periodically. The generator oil should be changed after the first 20-30 hours of use for new generators then annually.

Spark plug maintenance - these should be replaced at regular intervals, a worn spark plug can lead to engine misfires and rough operation, worst of all failure to start.
Battery maintenance – Depending on the types of battery your generator uses; it may need to be replaced every 2-3 years. Ensure the terminals are free from corrosion.

Transfer Switch Test – ensure the automatic transfer switch works as expected.
